Sermon Points from Jan 31st - 8:30 AM Service

Are you mission-mindedMission-minded people are different.  The things they do and the decisions they make are just different than what other people would usually do.

Susie Rain, a missionary writer for the International Mission Board (IMB), surveyed field missionaries of the IMB, and came up with the following list of 13 things mission-minded people do differently:

  1.    They WANT to meet someone who does not follow Jesus Christ.
  2.    They constantly look for creative ways to share the Gospel.
  3.    They have different worldviews.
  4.    They hear the voice of God and are obedient.
  5.    They pray … a lot!
  6.    They make disciples.
  7.    They meet human needs while sharing the Gospel.
  8.    They know that being mission-minded is not a “task” … it’s a lifestyle.
  9.    They are relational.
10.    They go!
11.    They see people with a future.
12.    They send!
13.    They understand “the task” is not done.

Everyone is invited to celebrate 100 years of Hunton Baptist Church!

If you stay in touch with a former member who would enjoy attending the Homecoming, or if you know of someone who has played a part in Hunton's past, please give that name, address and, if possible, a phone number to the church office as soon as possible.  We will be sure that person receives the information.

Spiritual Checkpoint

The third Sunday of each month at the conclusion of the 11:00 worship service, the Pastor invites everyone interested in asking spiritual, biblical, and/or church-related questions to spend a few mintues with him in a casual, informal, non-threatening environment of fellowship.

Do you have skills in finance, maintenance, planning?  Read about our Church Committees and how your gifts could be applied.
