The Tree of Grace

The Tree of Grace is an opportunity for you to give back to your community by helping some people in need. The Tree is set up outside the entrance to the Fellowship Hall. On each Snowflake tag is a list of items from a “wish list” for a little girl or boy, or a family member, in need this Christmas. You can help make their Christmas special by taking one or two of these lists, buying a gift indicated and returning the wrapped gift with the Snowflake tag attached to the outside. The gifts should be placed under the tree where they will be grouped by family and distributed in time for Christmas. Please have your gift ready by December 14th. If you are not a “shopper” but would like to donate money, there are several who would love to do the shopping. Please give all monetary donations to Linda Orange (804)338-7915, or Kathy Mowbray, (540) 414-2276.

We will be collecting SHOES of all types and sizes that are in Good Condition for the SOLES 4 SOULS mission project that is related to the Children's Christmas Pageant this year.  Bring shoes to the Family Fall Festival on Oct 26th (or anytime to the church) and fill our collection containers!

Soles4Souls is a global not-for-profit institution dedicated to fighting the devastating impact and perpetuation of poverty.  The organization advances its anti-poverty mission by collecting new and used shoes, then distributing those shoes both via direct donations to people in need and by provisioning qualified micro-enterprise programs designed to create jobs in poor and disadvantaged communities. Through the collection and sale of used (and new) shoes, Soles4Souls helps create self-sustaining jobs that generate desperately needed revenues throughout those communities.

Thanksgiving Food Pantry
local mission project
Sunday, November 23 (5pm-6pm)
Donations:  Please donate food for Thanksgiving dinners and/or monetary donations to help our neighbors during this holiday season.  There will be collection boxes in the breezeway starting November 1st.   Please donate items that you would enjoy for Thanksgiving dinner.  Each year we get so many thankful families for this much needed offering.
Volunteers:  Wouldn't you love to help with this very important mission project?   If you have time and energy, or feel the call, please let us know or even just show up at the open house on the 23rd to lend a hand.   You need to be there starting at 4pm for prep-time.   Together we will sort through the food, package it and visit with the families.
Seeking Families in Need:  Do you have a suggested family in need?   If so, please encourage them to call the church office at 266-0100 before Nov. 21st to be added to our reservation list so we know exactly how to plan.  This is open to anyone in our extended church family as well as others with a genuine need.
Questions?:  Please contact Josh Fletcher 804 901-2173 or Linda Hess at 804 387-1066.

Spiritual Checkpoint

The third Sunday of each month at the conclusion of the 11:00 worship service, the Pastor invites everyone interested in asking spiritual, biblical, and/or church-related questions to spend a few mintues with him in a casual, informal, non-threatening environment of fellowship.
